    Thanks for the video! You're right - no one else shows the actual steps. Question if you remember: did the lines go between the exhaust and the motor mount? or were you able to fish them between the mount and block? Mine are in the 1st way and i'm worried the exhaust will melt them...

    • @yz250ftony
      @yz250ftony Місяць тому

      It doesn't have spark but the cylinders are still getting fuel. I wouldn't crank it over very much with unburned fuel sitting in the exhaust and cylinders. When that ignites, it'll send a fireball through the exhaust (like a 2 step). As an extreme, could cause damage to the exhaust valves and catalytic converter. A few cranks won't hurt anything. Just don't sit there cranking it for 30 seconds.

    Also have to keep in mind. Young kids are the ones stealing these. Most of the kids not knowing the difference between a flathead and phillips. Also them being 110lbs soaking wet they arent running with a 160lb bike in their arms. And definitely arent picking it. Or have the strength to pressure bash it. It appears that you still have contaminants on the surface of your brass, which is why it was spotty. Clean/Scrub it with alkaline dishwasher liquid, rinse and a pre-dip in acid then rinse in distilled water to slightly etch the surface and I'll bet you'll get really even coverage.

      I used acetic acid and distilled water. All shells played easily except the 50bmg. I also wasn't using enough current for the 50 cal surface area. I'm using a bench top power supply for this now. Capable of 60 volts/15 amps. That wall wart supply was ok for small stuff but unregulated.

    Thanks man. Showed me it may be too much of trouble to run through that hole, to install a switch below dash panel. Going to try to squeeze through the hood latch cables spot on the other side of the car. Failing that, drill a hole right next to it. EDIT: partial success. Was very easy to access. My side cove was already open, but possibly could reach the thing from up top without unbolting anything. I used a coathanger to poke the hole and drive the wire in, but failed; it'd either slip off or get stuck. Tried drilling a hole next to the plug, but it's a hard material. Finally popped out that plug and ran the wire through its hole. Was hoping to put the plug back in, but couldn't. So I just gooped a bunch of silicone to plug the hole and called it a day.
